I Like Horror Movies

I enjoy horror movies even though I'm scared of watching them. It's like self-inflicted stress and psychological trauma. Lol

I'd watch any, no matter the language. (I studied film and animation. We have one class where we watch lots of movies and then right reports on it) I have few all time favourites. Some include Thai films, Spanish, Korean, American, Japanese, and few more.

Here are some in my collection.

The Orphanage

The Autopsy of Jane Doe

Pengabdi Setan (Satan's Slave)
Slept with the lights on for 3 days after watching this in the cinema. I dont usually watch Indonesian horror film because in my experience, so far, they makes me scared the most.

The Conjuring
I watched this alone at the cinema. Big mistake. Lol

Guillermo del Toro is an incredible director. I doubt you could ever go wrong with him! I saw the Orphanage and that did send a few chills down the spine. I enjoy the classic Hitchcock’s also and directors that copy him like Brian DePalma with movies like “Dressed to kill” and “Body Double”.

@Pfuzylogic I could not agree more! The Orphanage is the right dose of everything. It did not rely heavily on jump scare like most typical horror movies.

Ahhh. Brian DePalma is a prominent name in the film industry! He directed the original Carrie.

@mistfox I first came across his in “Dressed to kill” and then appreciated his skills for creating tension in so many others. Melanie Griffith played her best role in Body Double and I thought so much better than her daughter in “50 shades of gray”.

@Pfuzylogic I physically cringe at the mentioned of 50 shades. There are so many wrong things in that film and the book. Not enough research is one of em.

@mistfox I felt exactly the same way.
It came across as a jerk being a bully.
They really did that style of sexuality an injustice. It is like any horror or fetish, so easy to get wrong!
