I actually thought it was good. Idk why people are so obsessed with the original. Maybe just nostalgia. Really though the new one is pretty cool. I hope they make the sequel and get more into the weird ass origins of IT lol

@Cstmc Could be nostalgia. Like I said in another post, my problem with the original is that I never found it scary, not once. This new one, despite relying on jump-scares, was still pretty entertaining
Cstmc · 36-40, M
@okkelly2000 the old one definitely doesn't hold up and I don't even remember being scared of it when I was a kid. It's just kinda silly. The new one is mostly jump scares, you're right but it's also just a decent movie in general. I'm assuming they're going to make a sequel. Should be good.

@Cstmc Yeah, it's confirmed they're doing a 'chapter 2' to do the other half of the book. Although I keep holding out hope for a 'The Stand' movie series soon
Cstmc · 36-40, M
@okkelly2000 aren't they doing a Stephen King Netflix series? I think all of his books occur in the same world so they could make a pretty cool show out of it.
okkelly2000 · 22-25, F
@Cstmc I haven't heard anything about that, I know they're adapting 'Gerald's Game' and maybe a few others to Netflix, and I've heard rumours of 'The Stand' having around 4 movies, but it's mostly rumours and hearsay. We had to wait about 20 years before we actually got a Dark Tower movie despite constant claims of it being in production, so frankly I don't trust this sort of thing until I see it happen.
Cstmc · 36-40, M
@okkelly2000 well some of us had to wait 20 yrs lol
okkelly2000 · 22-25, F
@Cstmc Yeah, my dad was one of them, he hated the movie. I've only read the first two Dark Tower books and it didn't really grab me, but he said regardless, don't see the movie.
Cstmc · 36-40, M
@okkelly2000 I've never seen it either
okkelly2000 · 22-25, F
@Cstmc Like I said my dad's the one that's into all of it more than I am, he's a huge King fan, always buys the new books, always sees the movies, etc... I mean this guy watched 'IT' back in 1990 when it first aired.
So from what I've heard it's really not worth seeing
Cstmc · 36-40, M
@okkelly2000 I've read 0 king novels and have seen maaaaaybe 5 of the movies. I'm not a super fan but I'm definitely into new adaptations if they make em.
okkelly2000 · 22-25, F
@Cstmc Ah okay, I'm an avid reader, get it from my dad, so he recommends plenty to me. Lee Child, Stephen King, Isaac Asimov, etc...
Cstmc · 36-40, M
@okkelly2000 I read a bit but not fiction. Usually some boring ass political book or whatever catches my interest.
okkelly2000 · 22-25, F
@Cstmc Ah, fair play
