why is watership down from 1978 never shown on tv anymore

i loved this animation classic, starring john hurt as the voice of hazel....the last time i saw this film was in the late 80s on vhs video tape, i know there was a lot of controversy kicked up about the film being too dark for children etc, is that the reason it is never shown on tv anymore.

I always remember it being on telly first thing Christmas day morning when I was a little kid. Which was a bit psychologically heavy, hahaha.. Like what a time to put it on LOLZ😆

But yeah I'd imagine they'll see it as too brutal for kids these days. If I remember correctly they made a mini series a few years back which I've never seen but you know full well it won't be anywhere near as dark as the classic film.

It’s the best version and the best portrayal of the story. Thankfully my wife has it on DVD
