Why are Dems from Maine so dumb?

I honestly never really followed Platner very closely. I mostly assumed he was just another liberal like 90% of the American "left".

I think one of the unfortunate fallouts of this fiasco is he is already being used as a reason to validate purity testing anyone to the left of Dick Macinko who has a military background and that you can't be a leftist unless you immediately join a Buddhist monastery a week after boot camp.

Which is unfortunate because I know plenty of former war fighters who are left wing. That being said they are more on the "nothing to lose but your chains" end of the spectrum so have already determined electoral politics are theatre.

But yeah. The whole thing is a mess.

I thought best case scenario before the latest bombshell that he would be a "cleanest dirty shirt" kind of option.



Something getting less coverage is how Politico basically sat on the rape allegation info for what seems to be weaponizing it for political impact.
