Is trump the dumbest criminal in US History?

1) "Look at these Top Secret war plans I have illegally and shouldn't be showing anyone, Look at them!"

2) "Those weren't Top Secret dox they were newspaper clippings and golf course plans."

3) "Those may've been Top Secret war plans but I never tried to hide that I had classified dox."

4) "Listen Walt Nauta I want you to go back down to FL and erase the video files that DOJ just subpoenaed me for."

4a) "And include Carlos De Oliveira, who's a. good fella, and find some IT guy to help erase them."

There's something very odd but interesting about all this.

Trump (as big an ego as he has) doesn't strike me as the 'type' to deliberately misappropriate official documents to gain any sort of leverage or advantage for nefarious purpose......I mean that would require some sort of plan and execution and would almost certainly make him an instant 'Enemy of the state'.

So what happened ?

@Picklebobble2 It seems he used that document for bragging. Maybe possession of secret docs made him feel powerful? Maybe the chance to brag is worth the risk of a felony conviction for him.

One other point though - Trump flew to Mar-a-Lago before the transfer of power to Biden. So all the documents he transported he had the right to until noon when Biden was sworn in. Was the reason for Trump's early departure so that no one could question the document transport until it was too late? Did he [i]plan ahead[/i] to abscond with them??

@ElwoodBlues Oh there's no doubt it probably leaves him in a very actionable position both legally and with regard to potential accusations of Treason if somebody thought he was acting against the interest of his country. Lest we forget this was the guy refusing to abide by the election result and was encouraging folk to take to the street in protest.....which begs the question why he [i]wasn't[/i].Maybe it was enough for the judiciary if he just said quietly he wasn't going to run again
