My strength is my conviction
Doubt is my affliction
But still I stand, lines in the sand
Waiting on my benediction

I am tethered to the whole
Yet I still issue forth control
I can be betrayed, but can not be played
Because I know what's been foretold

And all my love is still the same
And all my past is just a game
I'll always try as the world goes by
And I'll act like I'm insane

Im such a feeling fool
Who simply can't be fooled
The words you try just pass me by
In droplets that I pool.

It's odd for me to say
But dreams hardly ever stay
I wish they would like wishes should
But I feel them fade away.

For I am just a man
Who makes no grander plans
I slave away each night and day
In the end alone I'll stand.

Buried within the fire
Despite all that I desired
Promise lost, my heart the cost
Another funeral pyre....
