The story of a love story that could not be because cold war did not let it be.
It happened in the 1950s, but Cold War seems made out of time and space. Such beautiful black and white photography, folk and jazz music, superb shots in a 4:3 format (as in previous Pawlikowski's masterpiece 'Ida')...can only be called art.One of the very very rare movies these days that remind us cinema is art.
Some stories are not meant to be. At least not in this world.
