I Get ASMR

I love the sensation of ASMR, got it since I was a little girl and only really became aware of my triggers in adulthood. for me top 5 triggers are;

1. When I'm posing in art class - like formal classes, in silence, just listening to the charcoal/brushes/whatever scratch on the paper - luv it

2. Watching a tradesman at work, assuming he's on his own and not talking to anyone, especially bringing a pencil or pen out to make notes, amazing

3. Getting a manicure or pedicure, the personal attention helps, but only if there's no talking and no music playing, I found the perfect salon for this and make an effort to go even tho its a bit far!

4. Hot Stone massage - the stones play a big part in this, the noise the tongs make when they're being picked up, lie clicks, fantastic

5. Doing a survey - but only if its in a quiet place (ie door to door canvasser who I let in to my house), and of course if the person has the right voice for it. Writing answers/ticking boxes is heaven but even using a tablet works good too!

Wow, just scanned the article on this and I can see it would be pretty cool to experience this. Great that you figured out your triggers so that you can enjoy it more. 👍🏻
I have that. I like it. I get it when I touch some people here or there.

I've never heard of this or anyone experiencing it..
Closest thing I can relate to is having the hair raise on the back of my neck about something that is going on around me..

@polyandrym66 i think they say up to about 25-30% of people get it, its impossible to describe, its not a nervous thing or anything - like hairs standing on end, its a much more pleasant feeling

Sorry for my ignorance, what is ASMR?
Ravers90 · 31-35, F
@Wol62 It's probably the hardest thing in the world to describe, if you get it you'll know exactly the feeling, this explains it better than i can!
