Apollo is the former Heavyweight champion who wants to reclaim his days-of-glory. He is unable to let go of his former greatness. Apollo is a trash talker... brash, confident, full of showmanship. He makes a few jokes and get a few laughs. He puts on a spectacular show with James Brown singing "Living in America" ...
Drago, on the other hand, is quiet and focused. He speaks very little. Before the fight, Draco utters only 3 words -> “You will lose.”
When the two meet in the ring, that's when the real story is told. Right now, the US and Russia are stepping into the ring, and we’re in the first round. Apollo (the US) lands a few punches, but all of a sudden, Drago starts hitting back, and hitting hard.
At the moment, the US isn’t talking so tough anymore... but pride doesn't allow the US to back down. The US now has two options: either throw in the towel or keep fighting. Well, we all know what happened when Apollo chose to keep fighting.
