The Green Mile. I wept like a little baby the first time I watched it.

Hard to say. Some really sad ones have already been mentioned. Two others that occur to me are The Pawnbroker and The Pledge.

I watched a film when I was younger about a little girl who fell down a well in her back garden and couldn't get out, I actually thought at the time, it was the worst thing that had ever happened and I couldn't stop crying.
