All time BEST finale to a tv series?

Mine is a three way tie - Newhart, when at the end Bob wakes up in bed next to Susanne Pleshette his wife from his first tv series and it's like the entire Newhart Show was a dream. Brilliant. Second, St. Elsewhere, which ends with an non-communicative autistic boy gazing onto a snowglobe of the hospital building where the whole series took place, and we are led to believe we have been watching the complex inner workings of his imagination. Finally, Mad Men. I mean, come on, Don Draper is behind iconic I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing Coke commercial? FAB-ulous.

@HeyNow: I've read that they didn't tell the cast what was going to be in the final scene. Just sent Radar in with the message and they had been told to improvise.

@LipstickandHeels: Really? Christ! I also remember the episode where Hawkeye loses it because a mother smothered her baby to stop it's cries giving away their position to enemy troops. Not your run of the mill comedy stuff.

@HeyNow: Oh yeah. I remember that too. If you think about it, really that was addressing PTSD long before anyone was really talking about it.

StElsewhere was amazing. Hugely underrated.

I'm surprised it hasn't found a new life on Netflix or something. It was a great show.

@LipstickandHeels: Definately. Certainly on the UK version of Netflix they don't do enough old series.

Cheers. Everything will be the same tomorrow, when they open and there are no cameras.

The other members of my household just loved that show. I just couldn't get into it - I know, I know, I'm in the minority.
