Classic Bad Decisions (Spoilers possible)

Made by characters in movies? Here’s a couple that come to mind:
Quint not taking a bigger boat - Jaws
Wicked Witch kidnapping Dorothy (or keeping buckets of water around) - Wizard of Oz
Gaston taking on the Beast - Beauty and the Beast
Capt McCluskey punching Michael Corleon
& Solazzo agreeing to having dinner with Michael - the Godfather
Got any others?
