Season 1 aired on TF1, on June 4, 2009. It's 6 seasons with the last episode airing November 2017. It depicts life in a village under direct German Nazi occupation starting in June 1940. It sits right across the demarcation line/river from Vichy France, and real close to the Swiss border, meaning the local French authorities, police, and Vichy collaborators interact closely with the German occupiers.
I just finished binging the series. Seasons 5 & 6 deal with near-liberation, liberation and the aftermath. Pretty low budget and corner cutting, especially when it comes to military action. The last 3 seasons are emotionally intense.
