I just watched the whisper man

It was so intense and scary at the end but it started very slow , I don't know why they gave it such a bad rating I was very scared, I don't know why the police always arrive too late in these scenarios, and why the kid looks Latino and the parents white, the ending was kind of sad though it's been a while since I have seen a good movie.
