a teenage kurd refugee has arrived in Calais. he can see his destination across the english channel. with help from a swimming coach he MIGHT make it. the coach brings down the french law enforcement upon himself with his compassion trying to help the refugee.
struggling to escape war, poverty, disease, and starvation they travel for months clinging to side of bus, under a train, breathing deadly air in a truck, cross deserts and the highest mountains in rags. then have to deal with legal systems, social barriers, and racism.
