Are there characters you could only imagine portrayed by specific actors…forever ?

Even if that actor is no longer with us ? Would seeing the character played by someone else be an adjustment ?

For me, Superman will always be
The late Christopher Reeve

The Black Panther will always be
The late Chadwick Boseman

Sherlock Holmes will always be
The late Jeremy Brett

And the X-Man Wolverine is
Hugh Jackman

I agree wholeheartedly.

Out of curiosity ... Who is your favourite Batman?

@splishsplash Christian Bale for me.
@splishsplash Of the more "current" movies (remember, I grew up when Adam West had the role), I liked the first with Michael Keaton. The voice actor who sounded most the way I imagined Batman was the late Kevin Conroy.
@FreddieUK Really? That's interesting. I immediately chose Michael Keaton simply because he was the first Batman (in the movie series) but Christian Bale would be a very close second.
Ben Affleck is dead last (my humble opinion)

Iconic!

@bijouxbroussard I was first entranced by the character when I watched the 1949 serial Batman and Robin in the children's matinee at a local cinema in about 1962. That was with Robert Lowery. Very dated now. I loved the Adam West era, but was glad it became more 'serious' with Michael Keaton as I matured.

@FreddieUK Did you ever see Lewis Wilson in '43 Batman serial?
The villain is J. Carroll Naish as the evil Japanese Dr. Daka.

This rivals The Mask of Fu Manchu with Boris Karloff for its over the top racism.....but it was war time so all bets were off.

@JSul3 No, I've never seen that one, only a few extracts. I believe it's somewhat controversial now for its portrayal of the villain which is seen by modern sensibilities as racist.
