Did y'all ever watch "Faces of Death" ?

Yes. One of the other kids in the neighborhood had some of them on VHS because his dad was a big fan of them. A whole group of us would be over there watching them while his parents were gone. Had to scratch those morbid curiosity itches because rotten.com wasn't a thing yet.

"Making a movie out of it"?? I thought it was a movie -- or two or even three -- made back in the early 1980s. One of those x-rated VHS things Blockbuster refused to carry.

Watched it with my buds 1980's summer. Only thing I remember of it was the eating monkey brains part.

The original 1978 movie claimed to show real death footage (mostly staged), while the 2026 remake follows a content moderator investigating scenes that recreate the original's, starring Barbie Ferreira.

The original straddled the line between shocking and silly.
