I just watched wicked for good

And I loved it. I cried as elphaba and Glinda parted ways. Also seeing fiyero get beaten up was harrowing. Elphaba staged her death to stop being hunted. I’m glad the wizard left oz but I think he should have been arrested with Madame morrible. Who killed nessa rose and brought Dorothy to oz. Glinda was actually trying to live up to her name and finally ended the years of oppression, torture, and enslavement of ozian animals. Elphaba tried to do that and make people see the truth but failed. I feel so terrible that she was deemed the wicked witch of the west and was vilified that people were ready to kill her as they started a lynch mob. It was a relatively dark film.

It was not cool that nessa rose blamed elphaba for turning boq into the tinman when elphaba was only trying to fix the wrong spell her sister casted on boq shrinking his heart when she was trying to get boq to lose his heart to her instead of Glinda. I am glad fiyero ended up loving elphaba the whole time and ended up with her. I will always root for elphaba who did what we she was right and stood up to an authoritarian regime. The only thing I didn’t like was she had the flying monkeys kidnap Dorothy because of Glinda giving her nessa rose shoes and she wanted the shoes back as they were the only thing left she had of her sister. Girl you could have just found Dorothy and simply explained how the shoes were not hers and just asked her to give them back. I feel sad that Glinda ended up thinking Elphaba was dead. But the grimier opening for her and glowing might have been elephants way of hinting she was alive. Elephaba gave up on being good because since the world was so convinced she was evil she as might as well become what is thought of her as:wicked. Seeing the animals fleeing oz was also horrible. It reminded me of the holocaust when people were trying to flee hitler. Or try to flee an authoritarian government like a dictatorship. Nessa turned dark too. Requiring muchkinlanders to have travel permits to leave all to keep boq prisoner so he couldn’t leave her. You can not force someone to love you if they have feelings for someone else. Boq stayed with her for all those years because he felt bad for her and out of a sense of pity and obligation since he professed to liking her in wicked. It was a dark fantasy movie with compelling themes and I am glad I got to see the final end to the beautiful story of wicked.

Now I don’t have to go see it! I’m kidding I’ve seen both movies and saw the play twice on Broadway. It was very good. Cheers!
