Hasn't there been 14 film adaptions of this book?

I wish they would bring out a new Jane Eyre film. I have loved this story since I was twelve years old.
I always felt Rochester showed more vunerability than Heathcliff. Although he was deceitful in hiding his wife and overbearing, he had some redeeming qualities in genuinely loving Jane and recognising her worth. He also recognised his own faults.

@mossyboots Yeah I agree with you. Rochester definitely shows more vulnerability than Heathcliff. He’s deeply flawed and makes some serious mistakes but he genuinely loves Jane sees her as his equal and actually owns his faults over time. That self awareness and growth matter. Heathcliff on the other hand just leans into bitterness and destruction without much reflection. And honestly I’d love a new Jane Eyre film too it’s a story that deserves to be revisited with fresh depth

I really should read the book again. I read it once as a teen but I liked Charlotte Bronte's work so much more than Emily's at the time that I don't think I gave it a fair chance. But recently, I've come across some excerpts from Wuthering Heights and have thought "That's really good!"🤭 And now watching this... yeah, I think I want to read it again.
Love the part where the lady asks her "Where's the obstacle?" and she says "Here" while placing her hand on her heart.🥹

@StarLily Honestly that makes total sense. A lot of us read it too young to really catch what Emily Bronte was doing. Coming back to Wuthering Heights as an adult hits different especially those lines that cut straight to the emotional core. That moment with where’s the obstacle and here is powerful because it says everything about internal conflict without overexplaining it. Definitely worth a reread now with fresh eyes.

@Amandapower That's exactly what I'm thinking... that it'll hit differently now.

Looks good!

@MellyMel22 it really does! I Always thought Margot Robbie is amazing, the only thing I've seen Jacob Elordi in was euphoria and he wasn't bad.

@Amandapower She is good! I’m not familiar with Jacob though.
