why is watership down from 1978 never shown on tv anymore

it is my favourite animated film, along with Ralph Bakshi 'Lord of the Rings' also in 1978, two wonderful british productions, but i often wondered why i haven't seen the original watership down in many decades...i'm aware there was a bit of controversy about the film some time back with complaints that it was too disturbing for children to watch....and i know there was parts edited out from the original film for that reason, which i thought was a shame and felt unhappy about, as i don't believe in editing or tampering with old films in any way....i managed to get the full deluxe edition of the original watership down imported from the states in about 2010.

Great Book that I remember reading when I was a child and yes very adult themes. the 1978 version is available on Netflix here in the States and there was a remake done is 2018 as a 3 or 4 part series that was pretty good too also on Netflix

@MrGoodbar remakes & modern series are ' trash ', i'm very biased towards them, i only want the original film from 78 unedited, yes the book i was told was great, heard lots of great reviews on it too, but unfortunately never got to read it.

Watership Down is available as a 2 season animated series on the Roku channel, if you stream your tv.
The animated movie is available on HBO Max.

@michaela2001 not interested, i'm only interested in the original 1978 film, not all these nonsense remakes.
