I had a dream where John Wayne killed Chill Wills in a knife fight. Why is my subconscious fixated on dead actors?

I know who John Wayne is, but I woke up trying to picture Chill Wills because I never knew his name. I remembered that he played in a few western films, so I Google searched for "older male actors in western films," and he was near the top of the list.

I remember the knife fight being about 8 minutes long. As The Duke was walking out the door, I saw him wielding a knife like a Filipino gangster.



Then I heard them (someone) say that John Wayne killed a man, and I was trying to piece it all together because I recognized the man’s face but didn’t know his name. Chill Wills was also an actor in Dr. Strangelove.
