one of first disaster movies...1972's poseidon adventure...experience hell while upside down as the sea pours in.

a rare process was used in filiming this story. they filmed it sequentially following the story narrative and seen on the screen. part of a series including earthquake, towering inferno, and the airport series as well as spoofs. shelly winters could never lose the extra weight she put on for her fat woman role. everyone knew whoever played this role would definitely get an academy award nomination. the voluptuous stella stevens is part of the cast also
