Babylon 5 is my favorite show ever
Sure it got messed with by the studios and ruined, but when it hit…it was the best TV has ever offered
I won’t hear arguments otherwise
This is a dialogue between the dying emperor of a dying empire and a career military man
[media=https://youtu.be/8u7S1mKanoA?si=chnTVofZW1Hmuz8w]
It’s so incredible, about the nature of power and obligation and duty
And it isn’t even one of the good episodes
This is mid for this show, and the emperor’s final monologue have always stuck with me
This wasn’t even a particularly remarkable episode except for a few key plot points
Individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinder critics and philosophers of today, but the core of science fiction -- its essence -- has become crucial to our salvation, if we are to be saved at all.
