What streaming services do you use?

@HumanEarth Here, each of the major broadcast networks runs its own streaming service as a second home for all its own popular shows and usually other series and movies to flesh it out. All free... (of course there is advertising.)😷

Plus I don't have a smart TV nor do I want one

Do you get CNN or FoxNews from that big puppy?

Its a old analog TV it don't even have HDMI hook ups

I need a digital converter box to pick up local television signals. But it works, so I'm not getting rid of it. I only replace when things die and I can't fix them.

I replace the picture tube once already and that was in the early 2000s. If I can get 50 years out the TV I got my money out of it

If the box eventually croaks, tons of them on ebay and maybe even thrift stores.

I do not do streaming services because TV for me is just background noise. I have a couple digital TVs only because I got them for free. I just watch over the air channels if I even look at the thing.

I mostly use it to watch my vhs tapes and DVDs and a few television shows and the weather

@HumanEarth I do not know if you knew this but in most thrift stores then have a lot of used VHS and DVD. Varying conditions but usually a big selection and cheap. I think DVD around here are like $3.

Only downside about the VHS - half the videos are that movie "speed".

You aren't missing a single thing by not having CNN or FoxNews cable TV.
Every bit of it is just garbage. CNN is 80% commercial advertising for the pharmaceutical empire and it would drive you to taking pills just to watch it for an hour. What you have is perfect... which is actually upgraded rabbit ears! 🐰

My kids pay like 200 bucks a month for TV and I pay nothing. They didn't learn a thing from me

You want watch something, you can get anything you want online for free if you know what your looking for and how to search for it

I was in a hotel years ago, they had dish. There were ENTIRE CHANNELS devoted to cr4p like commercials for "my pillow". I am not even kidding. I would stand before God and say that.

The way some companies do business make the mafia or cartels look like angels, at least from a financial standpoint.

@HumanEarth If they ever complain that "There is nothing good to watch", it is your duty as a parent to use that opportunity to give them a stern lecture about WHY they should not be paying for TV. They will not want to hear it but though sh*t. 😁

It can take some rummaging, at least for us amateurs but yeah, SOMEwhere we will find it.
