@Musicman I agree. Ive searched a few of those as well, and it i s the same - pay for the streaming service and then rent selected titles.
@LadyBronte I agree. We already pay for the service. Now they want us to pay for each individual movie. 😠😠😠😠

@Musicman I get it! Ugh.
@LadyBronte I remember when Turner Classic Movies was free on TV and showed them all day long. ☹
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
@Musicman Oh yeah, I watched TMC quite a bit.
@LadyBronte My wife and I love the old classics. Sadly for what they want to rent them today you can buy a copy on eBay and only have to pay one time.

@Musicman I have purchased a few that I really enjoy, but I hate to have a lot of them sitting around gathering dust in a cabinet.
@LadyBronte We are movie people we have about 400 DVD's.
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
@Musicman Oh my! That's quite a library! You probably don't grow bored with those handy!
@LadyBronte No we don't. Our motorhome even has a DVD player. We usually bring about 30 or so movies when we travel. Which may be tomorrow. We are probably going to leave town ahead of hurricane Milton.
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
@Musicman Nice. I usually have a few movies downloaded on my phone, and I play them from there, and then signal is strong enough.
Yea! Please head out well in advance of Milton. I've been through 1 hurricane in my life. You wouldn't have to tell me twice to leave and get far away. Goid luck! Be safe.

@LadyBronte Thank you very much. 🙂 Helene passed us out in the Gulf. Milton is supposed to make landfall much closer to home. ☹

@Musicman Helene was horrendous. Glad you weren't caught in it.
@LadyBronte We had some good winds and a ton of rain. One RV park by the house completely flooded. Every RV there was trashed.
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
@Musicman That's too bad. RVs aren't hardly thunderstorm storm worthy, let alone hurricane worthy.
@LadyBronte I know. That park is right on the river. 3 miles away there is a vacant office building with a large parking lot. They could have easily moved their RV's over to the parking lot for a couple of days then returned to the park. Sadly this is the second storm where they have flooded and not one RV left the park. I guarantee with Milton they will flood again. How many RV's can you lose before the insurance companies won't insure you anymore.

@Musicman I'm afraid this latest catastrophic loss with Helene in North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, etc, will have a dramatic effect on insurance in the future. Rate hikes, cancellations, unavailability in some areas, reassessed flood plain maps... Even before this, the reinsurance companies were struggling and making changes - leaving everyone in the insurance industry with a sense of unease.
@LadyBronte Our rates definitely went up. 😠😠😠
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
@Musicman Everyone's rates have gone up multiple times in the past few years. I fear we will see even more now.
@LadyBronte We may have to move. We can't afford another rate increase.
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
@Musicman I hope I'm wrong. If not, I may be adjusting coverage and shopping rates again. Along with everyone else.
@LadyBronte You can say that again. Every year now we have to shop rates.
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
@Musicman I don't shop it every year, but often.
@LadyBronte That's because you don't live in Florida. Lol!!! 😂😂😂
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
@Musicman No, but my state is awful so.... And at least you have a governor who is worth something.
