Mine would be a Bogart triumvirate:

The Maltese Falcon
Casablanca
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (prob the most watched)
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@RenFur I've watched all of those more than once. Casablanca the most.
RenFur · 70-79, M
@DrWatson

A perfect cast. Perfect everything, actually.
brokensignal · 46-50, M
There are many like that- No Country For Old Men, Whiplash, Killers of the Flower Moon (As a few examples.)

All great films that I don’t feel like I ever need to see again.
TheOthetAcc · 36-40, M
@brokensignal this post is actually inspired by no country for old men which I watched for the second time only last weekend. I've seen whiplash twice. Killers of the flower moon once. All great films
brokensignal · 46-50, M
@TheOthetAcc Maybe I need to give it a second look. 🤔
The Turin Horse. An incredible film but I'd really have to be in the mood for it if I watched it again.
TheOthetAcc · 36-40, M
@LeopoldBloom I've never heard of it. I'll check it out
@TheOthetAcc It's by Béla Tarr. Tarr likes to show the viewer sequences that take place in real time. The film is about an old farmer and his daughter who scratch out a living on their isolated farm. Much of the action is of the two of them eating, hitching up their horse, and the daughter helping her father get dressed as he doesn't have the use of one of his arms. At one point, a neighbor visits them; at another, they're visited by a roving band of Gypsies.

"Singing in the rain" One of my favorite movies but I only watch it like once a yearXD
TheOthetAcc · 36-40, M
@XxEllaxRawrxX what's it about? Please don't say singing in the rain 🌧️😂
XxEllaxRawrxX · 13-15
@TheOthetAcc Erm ,_, lots of singing lol, it's a great movie you should watch it. Kind of an old-timey movie I guess but it's really funny and sweet <3
Sophie’s Choice
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

Much too sad to watch more than once.
Neman1622 · 41-45, M
Fast N Furious installment 83, once was sufficient
Joker. It was good, but hard to watch and once was enough
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
TheOthetAcc · 36-40, M
@Jeephikelove haven't seen it. I'll check it out
hunkalove · 61-69, M
Jaws. Most of Steven Spielberg's movies. Well-made but most of them exist just to sell popcorn. The one about the concentration camp made me cry but I never want to see it again.
AmericanAvenger · 56-60, M
All Is Lost - but I am going to see it again as I just found the DVD in a Goodwill store for $1
Neman1622 · 41-45, M

DrWatson · 70-79, M
@bijouxbroussard That was an amazing movie!
@DrWatson Yes ! I was surprised how good it was.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@bijouxbroussard After watching it on DVD, I watched an interview with the director. He said something to the effect, "We've made a comedy, but we hope it has enough serious content to get people thinking and talking about race." My reaction to the movie was almost the opposite. I saw it as a movie that raised important questions to think about seriously, while injecting comedy along the way.

Either way, the way in which the movie could blend the comic with the serious makes it a gem, artistically, for me.
