Anyway, Hollywood doesn't really call itself liberal as much as it gets accused of it by the American right. Hollywood is about making money. Violence sells. Sex sells.
P.S. - Hollywood is just entertainment capitalism. They would lose money if they started shitting on non-straight people and minorities, so they promote non-straight people and minorities.
It isn't because they truly care about such people or any particular left or right wing ideology.
If it paid to be more "conservative" they would be.

@GeistInTheMachine That’s true. Hollywood is a business. People think it’s liberal because many (though not all) of the actors are, because artists do tend to be more progressive.

@GeistInTheMachine No, artists tend to be more progressive. In the U.S., liberals support choice, they support civil rights and lgbt acceptance, social programs. That might not be how liberalism is defined in other countries, but here it’s what differentiates it from conservatism.

@LeopoldBloom For facilitating the current debacle for Ukraine and enabling the killings in both places, yes, If we are to call the Democrat Party liberal. Whatever "liberal" is supposed to mean in this country anymore. The liberals aren't for liberty and the conservatives don't conserve anything of benefit to anyone.

@GeistInTheMachine There are still plenty of conservative Democrats. The GOP comes closer to being a monolith ideologically; there’s almost no room or voice there now for anyone who’s not a MAGA.
