Betty Davis

Watching "All About Eve"… can't decide if she was pretty or not, which mattered a great deal back then. Kim Carnes sang, "Betty Davis Eyes" but at moments she has frog eyes or chihuahua eyes… then all of a sudden she looks exquisite and unique!

Is she pretty?

Tell you one thing ,she is one hell of an actress!
All About Eve is a friends favorite movie, but its been aeons since I saw AAE..I've read the general idea is to make an actress look better as the film progresses.
Probably not beautiful in the Hollywood sense but as Graham Greene noted

As early as 1936, Graham Greene summarized Davis:

Even the most inconsiderable film ... seemed temporarily better than they were because of that precise, nervy voice, the pale ash-blond hair, the popping, neurotic eyes, a kind of corrupt and phosphorescent prettiness ... I would rather watch Miss Davis than any number of competent picture...1936

Betty Davis was one tough lady and one hell of an actress.

She was unique looking.

Fun fact: She was considered for the role of Elizabeth in the 1931 James Whale film Frankenstein but the role was given to Mae Clarke.

She wasn’t pretty, but you’re drawn to her nevertheless.
Bette Davis. There’s also a "Betty Davis", but she was Miles’ ex.

The 101 yr old Janis Paige looks better.
Jackie DeShannon co-wrote the song and also recorded it years earlier.

Never thought she was pretty, never liked her acting that much either -- too over-the-top for my taste.

I think she looked her best in all about eve . This was her at her peak [image]
Attractive or not, my favorite Bette Davis is when she later reinvigorated her career by playing crazy scary as all hell old ladies in films like Whatever Happened To Baby Jane and The Nanny.

She was a doll when young, but didn't age well
Three unique eyed entertainers, Betty Davis, Marty Feldman, and Rodney Dangerfield.
