It's a really really great movie. Especially when near the end, Chief Brody shoots the shark with an oxygen canister in his mouth. For future reference, Jaws 2 is alright. As for Jaws 3 and Jaws:The Revenge..you watch it when there is nothing else on. 🦈
Jaws was "The" Summer Blockbuster, in theaters in 1975.
It's an adventure film more than a horror film, quite different from the novel, as most films 'adapted' from books are.
A colorful cast, and a stellar music soundtrack.....fast paced and enjoyable.
One caveat: Shooting a canister of oxygen, would not have exploded as it was done in the film and would not have finished off the great white killer shark....but hey, it is a movie. Some suspension of belief is required...again, like most all movies.
