13 recommendations for the spooky season
Films i've loved and think they'd make a hell of a day's worth of uninterrupted entertainment, but not every film here would necessarily be for everyone, if interested, google a title and sense out what it would be with synopses and write ups, the more niche a thing is is when the probability of a new fave be slim.
I am binging all first seens and will share what they are early November, there is so much however that spooky season may continue to be celluloidally celebrated till HECK February or MARCH.
🎃 May you all have lots of fun, forget the cares of the world, and revel in your dark natures. 🎃
A silent film to establish that otherworldly mood
1. The Cabinet of Dr Caligari
Carl Dreyer's spooky film
2. Vampyr
Lucio Fulci's Gates of Hell
3. City of the Living Dead
4. The Beyond
5. House by the Cemetery
The best SOV
6. Video Violence
Best movies i've streamed last few months
7. mother! - not gonna be to everyone's taste, i loved how this evolved into an ever more and more outrageous nightmare.
8. Frownland - low budget descent into madness
9. Revanche - a superb Austrian thriller
10. La Haine - an excellent French crime drama, for those a little tired of horror at this point
11. Come and See - a truly terrifying Russian war film
My top 2 which are short films
12. The Grandmother - early Lynch is mmm *chef's kiss*
13. Inauguration of the Pleasure Dome - Kenneth Anger's hallucinogenic Halloween party from the 50's, for me always will be the perfect Halloween cinematic treat
