We're even now 😊

I started watching Community yesterday and that Abed dude is hilarious. I like how he's half Palestinian half American.

So in the second or third episode in season 1 he makes a small video and there's a mistake in the Arabic translation at the end of it. Not Netflix subtitles (I usually put those in English) but the subtitles inside the video he made.

So anyway it says "I think the wrong person just left" the translation says "يسار" "yasar" which is the word for "left" in Arabic but the direction not the present and past participle of "leave" 😅 so basically the sentence doesn't make sense in Arabic.

Also the actor playing his dad reminds me of an Egyptian actor who looks exactly like him.

I say we are even because of another hilarious mistake I found in an Egyptian series from 2021 that takes place in USA and Egypt both and I will never be able to forget this mistake. Basically this woman travels to the USA and at the American airport she arrives at a supposedly American police officer greets her and he says "Welcome to the United State" 😅 no plural no nothing!! He could have just said USA or even US but he just imagined an entire different place in his head.

I found a clip of it on YouTube

Yeah. In other shows when they fake British people they misuse certain words that have different meanings In the USA and England
