Will Smith Last Night?

I cant see if this has already been asked many times as the search is useless.
I'm just wondering if people generally think his reaction was warranted or not? (Or was it a staged farce for ratings?)

Gone are the days when the Oscars had stars like John Wayne, Charlton Heston, Rita Hayworth or Jimmy Stewart . Classic and memorable films like The Ten Commandments, Gigi or From Here to Eternity were nominated and watched my millions. Today, it's just a circus act that has low ratings and a fist fight is the only way to boost its popularity. Movies that nobody have heard of are nominated .
