I forget the name of the movie but it is based on a true story, here's a summery I cut from Google describing the movie
Gypsy Rose Blanchard was born on July 27, 1991, in Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Shortly before her birth, her mother Dee Dee Blanchard and Rod Blanchard had separated. Though Dee Dee described Rod as a deadbeat drug addict who had abandoned his daughter, Rod told a different story. So the mother faked the illness of her daughter, just to get sympathy from others. The daughter meets a guy online and he shoots the mother.
Later both are arrested!
