@Elevatorpitches It's very interesting to compare "Blade Runner" with "Forbidden Planet" regarding SF esthetics. Both are typical commercial products of their time, and times did change a lot between both movies, apparently.

@SomeAreBoojums "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" being one of them! In a sense, Philip K. Dick redefined SF in his work.
