I like the episodes, but after reading the original script, there were a few flaws that didn’t fit the story.
Any society, no matter how totalitarian, would still have a need for a librarian. They would have to keep records, files, etc. someone to keep things organized.
In the first draft of the script. After being considered “obsolete” the chancellor accepts his fate , and calmly awaits his death. Serling was a good writer, but he occasionally went out of character.
