I could settle for Charlotte's comfortable home
I only want Lizzy's passionate romance

(Couldn't find the book category, sorry guys 🙏)
As I start to get older, Charlotte's decision to settle makes more and more sense to me, and even appeals in an odd sort of way. It certainly could be comfortable, having a predictable partner who could never break your heart.
Does anyone else feel this way? Or do you still feel more like Lizzy?
Does time and experience make you even more certain that you want to only be with someone that you passionately love? And that "settling" for something comfortable and less emotionally invested (more logic) is a waste of time and energy?
I've fullheartedly agreed with Lizzy in the past and even felt it difficult to wrap my mind around actually bringing myself to do what Charlotte did. Honestly, even now, I'm still Lizzy and can't do Charlotte.
But I've found it easier and easier to sympathize with Charlotte's decision. And I'm about 7-8 years younger than she was, if I recall correctly. Waiting and holding out for only a deep and fulfilling romantic love can be a gamble. Where the house too often wins.
(P.s. Dear my fellow superfans, I know that Charlotte and Lizzy's situations were different but let's just pretend that they balanced out in the end).
