This will be only my 2nd viewing, it's always struck me as a handy dandy staple of the genre, but in the past i was a little snobby about liking the Italian version more, which was the first Italian Neo-realist feature - Ossessione by Luchino Visconti, just try saying that out loud without sounding pretentious. Well anyway this is the good ole american version with Lana Turner and John Garfield, based on the novel by James M. Cain, a novel i hope to read soon, but not too soon owing to my decision to include 48 noir films in the next mega purchase. Them's how the dice roll folks, but as always if i change my mind again, i'll keep you abreast, just don't expect any milk ;)
