Do you think Saturday Night lost its flair?

1975-1980 were the best years. Gilda Radner, Bill Murray, Jane Curtain, Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase, Jim Belushi, Garret Morris, and Lurane Newman were the best.

They wrapped their last season as the highest rated entertainment show in the 18-49 demo. So they're still relevant. I think the 'newness' of the early years created a different dynamic. As did the times. Ironically, you can't get away with stuff today that you could then. But no. I don't think it's lost it's flair at all.
I've watched through the duration and am always blown away that, other than a handful of years where they tweeked the format with longer, "high concept" sketches, that it's stayed so consistently strong. The advent of the internet sucked audiences from all television but they were really smart to take advantage of how five minute sketches can play online.
