Constantine (2005)

Anyone needs to have seen this movie because of the great actors, marvelous scenes and the terrific storyline. There's not only Keanu Reeves and Tilda Swinton who have influenced the movie scene with some really great performances. The movie's origine itself is to be found (yet again) in an earlier comic book. Because of the obvious dark edge it's indeed DC instead of Marvel, and the author of the story is the great Alan Moore. Personally, I like the short sequence deep inside the movie when the actor Pruitt Taylor Vince almost recreates an extremely powerful movie scene by Rod Steiger in The Pawnbroker (1964). Will there be a showing of Constantine 2 soon though?

I keep coming back to this flick over the years and yes, it’s very good! A shame it was a one and done. I like Reeves. He’s a not a great actor. He’s capable. But he almost always ends up in movies you want to see. And often more than once.
