Oldboy (2003)
A classic mystery/action movie. The end is super fucked up and every second leading up to it is great. The score is wonderful and so is the acting. Watch it now.

I really liked "The Map of Tiny Perfect Things" It is playing on Amazon now. It isn't an amazing movie but I think it is worth seeing.

Fearless. Jeff Bridges & Rosie Perez.
Two survivors of a plane crash help each other out dealing with loss.
Beautifully done by two actors that you don't immediately associate with 'deep' work.
Be warned though, the crash scene at the end is possibly some of the best cinematography i've ever seen and you really get some idea of what they survived.

It's a made in 1980s movie set in the 1950s in NYC and Louisiana. It's a mystery starring Micky Rourke, Lisa Bonet, Robert Di Nero.
A private investigator is hired to find a person who owes a debt. What he finds is amazing.

It's well acted and beautifully shot. I really liked it.
Max Vatan (Brad Pitt) and Marianne Beauséjour (Marion Cotillard) are World War II operatives who never reveal their true identities. After falling in love during a risky mission, they hope to leave all that double-dealing behind them and start new lives. Instead, suspicion and danger envelop their marriage as both husband and wife become pitted against each other in an escalating, potentially lethal test that has global consequences

Behind The Mas.......oh, no horror :(
This is Spinal Tap. My favorite rock and roll mockumentary. Bonus tip. If you get the DVD, there's a commentary track of the guys in character that makes it a whole like a whole new movie

It's light hearted, entertaining. With a bit of intrigue.
It's older but you'll probably like the lead.
Midnight In Paris

It's a particular movie, not something you'd watch out of boredom or to fill an evening I mean, but worth seeing.

Enemy! because it is a director movie, and the director is a f amazing director, and people watch it as a regular mystery movie, but to me it is a "memeto" backwards movie

In homage to the great, late Christopher Plummer I recently watched some films he starred in during his most recent times. (1) Remember (2) The Exception (3) Knives Out [not horror] They're all great films. It's hard to say if amazing. I was lucky enough to see (3) at the cinema before lockdown.
Reasons
1) a twist at the end.
2) a compelling love story
3) theatrical mystery comedy, superb cast.
BTW, great post; there are a few films in the thread I haven't seen and will add to the watch list.😍 Thanks
