Can anyone tell me how the cinema audience reacted back in 1980 when Darth Vader said "No. I am your father."

Everybody gasped. Some low muttering. But people were completely transfixed by the story, it was a quick reaction then everyone went back to watching to see how Luke, Leia, Chewy, and Lando were going to get out of this...
