I just finished American psycho and not sure what happened...

Did he not really kill those people? Did he just imagine it?

The Author, Brett Easton Ellis. Said that he was trying to portray Yuppie Wall Street where all these guys are the same.. Anytime they talk about someone, they are all confused about which one they are speaking of. They all dress the same and the only difference in an attempt to stand out is the infamous Business Card Scene.

In Patrick's attempt to be original, he conjures up this fantasy where he kills all of these people. He wants to break out of the mold and be different.

In the book, he kills more people and it's MUCH more violent. But you can really feel the depravity and his downward spiral of thoughts.

I love Christian Bale as an actor, but the book is SO much better. Gives you a much better idea of what's going on.
