The Return 2017
Just starting part 3, it's unbelievable, it's like David is summing up his career, i see traces mostly of Eraserhead in it so far, desolate industrial setting, but also cosmological stuff, creatures, dimensions. it's his Berlin Alexanderplatz, and i love it, watching attentively however does pose somewhat of a strain, but it is awe inspiring, and achingly sad too, i sense that during this 1,000 plus minute experience the passing of time, the interminableness of everything will be played out, seeing characters who were young in 1990 to 1992 in 2017, and the deeper aspects that we carry around within and constantly try to think of something else, great works of audio visual construct art casts its gaze at such primordial things, and like a secret passed along is it's gift to the viewer.
