@HeteroDox I was in 5th grade when I first saw this as my and my best friends parents would take us to movies. Sometimes we met up with friends our age and other times I saw films that weren’t necessarily directed at a younger audience. And I recall thinking how scary and disturbingly difficult it would be if I were “Jim” in this movie. It wasn’t until I was much older that I would realize how powerful this movie is but I definitely felt it when I was younger. Amazing film great performances by all the actors. Esp Joe Pantoliano !! And Malkovich and Bale really are convincing. I think Christian Bale is only a few months to a year older than me and I think it’s why I connected with the film. I’m glad you enjoyed it so much as well.
