Michael was lonely and had no childhood friends due to the nature of his music work. I don't think Michael viewed what he was doing as 'abuse' because I don't think he had a premeditated intent to abuse anyone in any way. But I don't think Michael understood what constituted an act of 'abuse' in the first place. He simply didn't know any better.
