On a bit of a 'Doomsday' kick. Anyone seen [b]Melancholia[/b] or [b]Seeking a friend for the end of the world[/b] and would you recommend either ?

I recommend “Melancholia.” Lars van Triest is a tough director to embrace, but some of his work is stellar.

“Melancholia ” really drags in the first act, but stick with it for a tremendous finale.

I also heartily recommend his spare masterpiece “Dogtown.”
