Each year, the BBC (who is already funded by the tax payer) guilt trips the struggling UK taxpayers into sending them money to give to poor countries by giving the money to drug lords. However, it seems a couple of months of the annual salary of just one of these BBC presenters would surpass the amount of money they manipulate out of the taxpayer:
Cut their salaries and keep the free TV license for all those over 75. Or even better, scrap the license altogether, cut presenters salaries and rely advertising for income like all the other channels do.
@liondog Yes, if they are so great, they should be able to survive in the free market. Well, we know the establishment know they themselves can't, which is why they keep fighting to get independent creators deplatformed over vague hate speech laws.
@Quizzical he's one of my favourite people - incredibly intelligent, bounces so many ideas off of each other rather than fanatically pushing just one opinion which is a clear sign of someone who loves to keep learning, and also stands up to very powerful bullies. I'm glad you also like him. The smears he gets and the number of idiots that go along with calling a professor that challenges identity politics, an 'alt right pseudointellectual' really shows how pathetic society is.
@CathyUK Heh, Even the voice of reason needs to pick a side on some things.
The BBC has had countless in-excusable controversies, no doubt, but they are still the very best in global news, and their documentaries, especially on nature, is an asset of understanding for humanity.
@Sara1134 Oh, you were talking to CathyUK. You should have replied to her comment, rather than made a general comment. Though I have to admit they do push far left insanity.
@Sara1134 You tell me I hear only what you want to here and then make a generalisation about one whole side of the political spectrum whilst claiming it doesn't happen at all to the other side. Idiot.
