I was happily surprised that they jumped straight into Jon riding a dragon and the revelation if his parentage

That scene with Danaerys and Samwell Tarly....

@SW-User I know. It does bring it home that Danaerys is not actually that nice a person. She is on the 'good' side but when you think about it, she is pretty ruthless and brutal. Not a million miles better than Cersei, in some respects.
