maybesomeday I will admit that there is a lot of that, but most of it has to actually do with the story. Sure, they don't have to show it on the TV show, but it is in the books to enforce the feeling you have for a specific character. I've found that in the books that most of the violence and rape is very much part of the character development. So I see it that way with the TV show as well. It isn't for everyone, I'll be the first to say it isn't. But the Twilight books and movies aren't either, same with Harry Potter, Lord of The Rings and so many others. A Song of Ice and Fire is just a book series that has a lot of violence and sex (of various types) in it. I can't see why anyone would enjoy 50 Shades of Grey, but that is popular as well. Everyone is different and have their personal preferences.
