@Steve42 Au contraire, Hollyweird does have a vision of the future. It's whatever makes them ca$h that doesn't necessarily correlate with what the others want. If what the masses want is:
...then that's what's profitable for Hollyweird to produce, and therefore it will get made. Probably. But if it's not profitable, say like an art house movie or cinema nouveau, it won't get made.
Now compare that monetary sensibility with what is getting made. There you have it, as well as a reflection of the majority of the film viewing culture.
